Cat Haven Field Trip

Experience life science by visiting over 25 big cats, including rare species from around the world, with a FREE Field Trip to Project Survival Cat Haven with the City of Fresno PARCS Department through the Highway City Community Science Program.
Activities include a one -hour guided tour of the Cat Haven and participate in an Ecosystem Adventure Course that allows students to visit discovery stations that help them learn the special adaptions that large cats need to survive in various ecosystems.

When: Saturday, March 18, 2023
Who: Students 7 -17 years Old
Time: 8:30 A.M. - 1:30 P.M.
Where to Meet: Highway City Science Center 5140 N State Ave. Fresno, CA 93722
Meals: Snacks and a water bottle will be provided
What to pack: Make sure to dress in layers. Please bring a jacket or sweatshirt, wear closed-toed walking shoes, and a hat. Other suggestions include a small backpack and sunblock.
Deadline to register: 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023

Agenda:
8:30 AM Check into Highway City
8:45 AM Review Safety Guidelines/ Distribute Groups
9:00 AM Departure to Project Survival Cat Haven via charter bus
9:50 AM Arrive to the Cat Haven. Distribute snack/water bottle
10:00 AM Students will be split in two groups with 20 students in each group.
Group 1: Tour Cat Haven
Group 2: Ecosystem Adventure Course (This course allows students to visit discovery stations that help them learn the special adaptations that large cats need to survive in various ecosystems.)

11:00 AM Students rotate activity
Group 1: Ecosystem Adventure Course
Group 2: Tour Cat Haven

12:00 PM Goldfish snack
12:15 PM Load bus for home
1:15 P.M. Arrive to Highway City
1:30 P.M. Parent pick-up from Highway City Community Science Center
***Parents, please note: Weather on Saturday, March 16th in Dunlap will be a high of 58 degrees and a low of 40 degrees.
